MK and I just started a Study through the ‘Gospel of John’, with Michael Card. John has always been my “go to”, in the New Testament just as the writings of King David are in the old. I appreciate how both John and David’s faith seems to be packed with awareness, intimacy and confidence.
Tonight we studied Chapter 2, where we find Jesus at party (as he characteristically and yet inconspicuously performs a miracle) and then later in dramatic fashion, drives out those from the temple who would take advantage of others by selling redemption.
Mmmm…Jesus, having fun at a party, making that party even better by miraculously making some sweet Vino out of water and then going to town and exercising some Justice, by looking out for those who need looking out for (especially the poor). I feel as if I’m back at square one, looking at the life of this man…and looking forward to what I find!
